Funding Available for Safe Streets and Roads - Governing

A crosswalk, train station, and bus shelter.

The Safe Streets and Roads for All program, which provides direct funding to cities to make street improvements, is accepting applications. Other grants for transportation infrastructure are open or opening soon as well.


In Brief:

  • The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act have made billions available for urban infrastructure.

  • Some programs are targeted to improving street safety in cities.

  • The Local Infrastructure Hub is offering trainings for upcoming grant programs.
